About the role

Under the guidance of Director, Partnership for a Lead-Free Future Secretariat, the purpose of this consultancy is to support content creation, audience engagement and partnership building for UNICEF, which works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Public Health, Marketing, Development Studies, or a related field. A first-level university degree combined with additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in communications, digital communications, advocacy, public information, or partner engagement.
  • Experience supporting communications for international organizations, UN agencies, partnerships, NGOs, or development programmes.
  • Experience producing digital communications products, newsletters, reports, social media content, and web content.
  • Experience organizing webinars and supporting high-level events is highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong editing, proofreading and content development skills.
  • Experience managing websites and digital communication platforms.
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp or similar newsletter platforms.
  • Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphic design software.
  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools.
  • Experience working in multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Understanding of public health, environmental health, or child health issues is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills.

Desirables

  • Experience developing digital communications content for international organizations, partnerships, or development programmes.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.
  • Experience managing websites and content management systems (CMS).
  • Experience developing newsletters, blogs, fact sheets, reports, and social media content.
  • Experience using graphic design and visual communications tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Knowledge of branding and visual identity guidelines.
  • Experience working with UN agencies, international organizations, or global partnerships is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of environmental health, public health, child health, or sustainable development issues is desirable.

    • Workplan and timeline;
    • Relevant experience supporting communications and partner engagement.
  • At least three examples of communications products developed by the applicant (e.g., newsletters, reports, fact sheets, websites, blogs, social media campaigns, or communication strategies).
