About the role

The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student-centered to teach undergraduate courses in communicative disorders as needed in the following subject areas: phonetics, introduction to communicative disorders, audiology and audiometry, aural rehabilitation, speech/language disorders, speech/language development, sign language, anatomy and physiology, neurology and neurogenic communicative disorders, and clinical methods and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in communicative disorders as needed.
  • Work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse student population, including first-generation college students.
  • Be available on very short notice.

Requirements

  • A Master’s or PhD (M.A, M.S., AuD, PhD, EdD) degree in Communicative Disorders.
  • Prior teaching experience at the university level or at least 5 years of experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP).
  • Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist or Audiologist with ASHA-CCC and State of California Licensure.

Qualifications

  • Significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Bilingual for clinical supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive environment.
  • Preference will also be given to SLPs who are bilingual for clinical supervision.

Performance Evaluation

Regular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments.

Appointment and Salary

  • All part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association.
  • Initial appointments are for one semester only.
  • Classification Range: $5,507 - $6,677 per month Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $6,221 per month.
