About the role

As a Commissioning Agent in our Tallahassee office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all. You will be responsible for resolving commissioning challenges and completing tasks assigned, including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans from information set forth in Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), plans and specification construction documents, as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans based on Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD), construction documents, and gathered information.
  • Resolve commissioning challenges and complete assigned tasks.
  • Interpret codes, guidelines, and standards related to commissioning, design, and construction.
  • Access and interpret design requirements using computer-aided drafting/BIM software.
  • Diagnose and solve construction and operational problems.
  • Apply safety training to specific construction situations and use test and measurement equipment safely.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project partners, and team members at all levels.

Requirements

  • Technical or Associate Degree in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design, or construction engineering from an accredited institution; or commensurate design or construction experience.
  • General understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing/piping.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret codes, guidelines, and standards related to commissioning, design, and construction.
  • Experience in computer operation and ability to learn engineering calculation programs and BIM software.
  • Valid driver’s license and state-required vehicle insurance.

Qualifications

  • Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body.
  • Ability to combine personal judgment with a wide variety of data and information to implement commissioning criteria.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively both individually and within team environments.
