Commission Specialist
Founded in 2012, Compass is revolutionizing the real estate industry with an end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients. As a Commission Specialist, you will be an integral member of the Transaction Management team, reconciling and processing commissions for sales, rental, and referral closings in the New York and Connecticut market.
This role requires working out of the Compass office at 110 5th Avenue one day every other week, with occasional visits to other New York/CT offices for special events. While the department operates on a hybrid attendance policy, in-person connection is valued and expected per the department’s schedule.
Responsibilities
- Handle document tracking for a large volume of real estate transactions from listing to close, ensuring compliance with brokerage and legal requirements.
- Ensure real estate contracts are processed properly and in a timely manner, with a focus on detail.
- Navigate company systems to validate accuracy of compliance and commission records.
- Provide support to agents regarding commission payouts, deductions, and calculations.
- Collaborate with sales managers and support teams to deliver outstanding agent support.
- Process commission payments, track referral payments, and manage agent deductions.
- Work closely with accounting to review and audit commission records.
- Partner with the Accounting team to research and respond to commissions inquiries impacting the monthly financial statement close.
- Collaborate with the Product & Engineering Team to improve the real estate transaction system.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in real estate transaction processing, accounting, finance, or payroll (preferred).
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of agent contract data.
- Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and quantitative communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and G-Suite platforms.
- Impeccable attention to detail and solid customer service instincts.
- Comfort with new system rollouts.
- BA or BS degree.
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $29.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may also be provided.
