Commissary Worker

Responsibilities

• Display, rotate and sell merchandise to inmates and employees
• Safeguard and maintain adequate supply of merchandise
• Maintain merchandise in a saleable condition and monitor the cleanliness and appearance of the facility commissary
• Assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting commissary operations
• Participate in monthly inventory preparation and assist with the submittal of inventory reports to accounting
• Assist with the verification of the accuracy of shipments received from distribution centers and authorized outside vendors
• Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed
• Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices
• It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/ her capabilities as determined by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year related experience in a commissary or retail sales function preferred
• A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management
• Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements

$19.57 per hour
