On-Site Commissary - Part Time

About the role

TurnKey Corrections is seeking a dependable and self-motivated Part-Time Commissary & Facility Support Associate to support daily operations at the Jackson County Detention Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The role involves assisting with commissary distribution and warehouse activities, providing customer service, and performing basic equipment troubleshooting. On‑site storage is provided and products are delivered directly to the facility. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and able to work independently or collaboratively with a small team. A comprehensive background check is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Distribute commissary products to detainees in accordance with company and facility procedures.
• Respond to and resolve detainee inquiries and issues related to commissary operations.
• Receive and organize deliveries.
• Perform general warehouse duties, including order preparation.
• Complete basic computer‑based tasks and data entry as required.
• Troubleshoot and assist with the maintenance of on‑site equipment, including computers, network hub devices, kiosks, and vending equipment.
• Navigate and work across multiple software platforms and company systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Frequently standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms; ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis; ability to work in a correctional facility environment while adhering to all facility policies and security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Skills

• One year of warehouse, inventory, or related experience (preferred).
• Basic computer knowledge and proficiency (preferred).

Pay

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

Part‑time, approximately 3 times per week with a flexible schedule.
