Responsibilities
- Define the path for existing ingredient technologies in human markets (short to medium term focus):
- Scope and prioritize human market opportunities for our existing ingredient technologies (based on end-product and claims landscape, unmet consumer needs, competitive ingredient set, and more)
- Define market structure, pricing segments, key players, and end-consumer willingness-to-pay
- Own customer discovery for prospective opportunities: build foundational relationships, gather commercialization and claims-relevant insight, attend conferences, and grow Kingdom's presence in target markets
- Define the final ingredient concept, moment of truth, end-product applications, and commercialization path (positioning, claims, unit economics, regulatory implications) for us to bring the ingredient to market
- Identify and prioritize new ingredient development opportunities (medium to longer term focus):
- Review and refine the commercial criteria and evaluation process for assessing future ingredient opportunities
- Scope future ingredient opportunities across pet and human markets (food, supplement, cosmetics, and more)
- Own customer discovery across prospective opportunities - introducing Kingdom as a potential partner, building relationships, and surfacing commercialization insights
- Develop opportunities from concept to clear ingredient commercial specifications, including moment of truth, customer/expert validation, end-product prioritization, unit economics, and key ingredient requirements/specifications for technical handoff
- Iterate with technical team and external experts to refine and finalize ingredient concepts
- Collaborate with technical team to set clinical study targets for new markets and new ingredients (ongoing):
- Test, refine, and maintain target claims for ingredient pipeline
- Provide the clinical team with prioritized claims, relative importance, and the commercial business case to inform clinical strategy
- Collaborate with clinical team on clinical trial prioritization based on commercial considerations, trial complexity, and likelihood of success
Competencies & Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience, ideally with top-tier consulting as a foundation, paired with experience in strategy, product innovation, or commercial roles in CPG, consumer products, or biotech/ingredients
- Comfort with deriving insights from data and customer/expert interviews: market sizing, opportunity quantification, unit economics, competitive landscaping
- Technical/scientific fluency (or strong demonstrated interest and learning ability): enough depth to be a credible partner to our technical team
- AI-native working style: daily Claude Code or equivalent use, prompt fluency, willingness to rebuild operating cadence around agentic tools
- Consultant-style analytical framework: top-down thinking, MECE problem decomposition, fluidity moving between high-level strategy and detailed analysis or opportunity scoping
- High agency and builder mentality: self-motivated, takes loose direction and turns it into a structured plan, ships against deadlines
- Project management rigor: keeps multiple workstreams visible, surfaces obstacles with proposed solutions, doesn't drop balls
- Comfort operating at multiple altitudes: zooms from broad strategy to detailed analysis to single-ingredient opportunity scoping in the same day
- Strong interpersonal skills: navigates internal dynamics, builds trust quickly, gets senior stakeholders aligned on a path forward
