Commercial Scheduler II, NGL
About the role
The Commercial Scheduler II, NGL will work in an open, fast-paced team of Commercial Schedulers in Houston to optimize commodities in Phillips 66’s portfolio for both Commercial Supply and Trading positions. This role supports day-to-day scheduling and logistics execution, refinery support, product coordination, inventory monitoring, supplier performance, and collaboration across commercial and operating teams to improve reliability, efficiency, and business results.
The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
Responsibilities
- Execute NGL supply planning and scheduling activities within established systems and commercial frameworks.
- Coordinate product movements across the supply chain, including refinery support and logistics across rail, truck, pipeline, terminal, and other channels as needed.
- Monitor supplier and service provider performance and support improvement actions when gaps arise.
- Analyze cost drivers, market conditions, transportation options, inventory positions, and supply-chain risks to support commercial decisions.
- Coordinate contract and supplier activities and provide support for negotiations, renewals, and sourcing decisions.
- Monitor asset operations and inventory positions, proactively identifying constraints, risks, and opportunities to support value optimization and supply reliability.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, improve alignment, and support continuous improvement.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancements, maintaining desk documentation, and sharing best practices to improve efficiency and execution quality.
Requirements
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- 3 or more years of experience in the energy industry supporting logistics, supply, and/or trading activities
- Intermediate or greater proficiency with analytical tools such as Excel and PowerBI
- Willing and able to work extended or non-standard hours as required to support scheduling operations
Qualifications
- Experience with refinery support, product scheduling, inventory management, or transportation logistics
- Experience with rail, truck, pipeline, or multi-modal movement coordination
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a finance, technical, or engineering discipline
- Proficiency with SAP and commercial logistics or scheduling systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and support data-driven decisions
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Pay
This position has a base salary range of $108,900 - $133,100. This role is eligible to participate in the company’s commercial bonus program, offering the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on business and individual performance, in accordance with program guidelines.
