Responsibilities
- Installing commercial and residential doors, frames, and hardware
- Installing and adjusting closers, panic devices, hinges, locks, and related hardware
- Assisting with storefront and glazing installations
- Installing hollow metal, Timely, and other door and frame systems with hardware
- Performing wood door and trim installation, including pre-hung doors
- Assisting with door fabrication, including welding and production assembly (as applicable)
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, door schedules, and hardware sets
- Making measurements, cutting, assembling, and modifying materials using hand and power tools
- Supporting material handling, site preparation, and job site organization
- Maintaining quality workmanship while following all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- Entry–Mid Level: 1–3 years of experience with doors, hardware, or general carpentry preferred
- Experience or exposure to any of the following is a plus:
- Glazing and storefront installation
- Commercial hardware installation
- Wood door and trim carpentry
- Hollow metal door and frame installation
- Closers and panic devices (electrified experience is a plus, not required)
- Door fabrication, welding, or production assembly
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
Working Conditions
- This position requires indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to varying weather conditions
- May involve working at heights, near fumes or airborne particles, and around electrical components
- Noise levels on job sites are typically loud
Physical Demands
- This position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle
- The role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises
- The ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs. These tasks may vary and are not required to be performed daily
- Effective and professional communication and interaction with supervisors, employees, and others, whether individually or in a team environment, are vital aspects of the role
- Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, are necessary for performing work safely and effectively
Travel Requirements
- May be required to work on project sites both within and outside of the Boise metropolitan area, or in other states
