Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to build positive customer relationships and ensure satisfaction with ice machine performance.
  • Perform installation, repair, maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of ice machines to improve longevity and reduce service calls or emergency ice purchases.
  • Lead installations, exceeding customer expectations with accurate, timely, and efficient service.
  • Accurately diagnose and resolve technical issues on the first visit to minimize customer downtime.
  • Achieve or exceed performance metrics for service response times, resolution rates, and customer feedback.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work schedules and adapt to changing operational demands while pursuing personal and professional growth.
  • Install, clean, maintain, and troubleshoot Easy Ice equipment to increase reliability and reduce service calls.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits, emphasizing relationship-building.
  • Train and mentor less senior technicians as needed.
  • Manage on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure timely completion of work orders per company procedures.
  • Document all service actions with photos, forms, reports, and logs to maintain clear records.
  • Ensure proper truck stock to avoid unnecessary return trips and service delays.
  • Pick up and deliver ice as needed for service calls to ensure timely customer service.
  • Facilitate accurate customer payments and assist in equipment shutdowns or removals when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop by adhering to safety protocols.
  • Keep company vehicles clean and organized, removing ice and trash at the end of each shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; vocational/technical training preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience diagnosing and repairing commercial equipment (refrigeration, electrical, HVAC, ice machines, or related fields).
  • EPA 2 Certification.
  • Working knowledge of mobile tools and applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate volt meter operations.
  • Full-time availability, including a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Strong communication skills for customer and team interactions.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to repairs and maintenance.
  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and complete service calls efficiently.
  • Organized record-keeping for service activities.
  • Proven track record of delivering high customer satisfaction.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, ladder use, and handling of tools/parts.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 75 pounds.
  • Extended periods of standing (6+ hours per day).
  • Exposure to varying noise levels, including elevated noise in some environments.
  • Driving a vehicle for up to 60% of work hours.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be required.
