About the role
DHR Mechanical Services is a trusted name in commercial refrigeration and HVAC solutions with a commitment to quality, performance, and lasting partnerships. Established in 1997, we operate across the Southeast (FL, GA, AL, TN, MS, SC, NC) and provide a full range of refrigeration services, including new installations, remodels, on-demand equipment replacement, and preventative maintenance. We work with a variety of commercial partners in industries such as supermarkets, warehouses, education, healthcare, and hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Leading service projects and mentoring junior technicians.
- Diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC/R equipment (walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, RTUs, etc.).
- Performing and managing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting across customer sites.
- Communicating clearly with customers and team members to ensure quality service delivery.
- Ensuring compliance with safety protocols, building codes, and environmental regulations.
- Maintaining accurate service documentation and reporting.
Requirements
- Commercial HVAC/R experience (refrigeration strongly preferred), candidates with 5+ years may be considered for the Lead Service Tech position.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
- EPA Universal Certification required for handling refrigerants (Type II or Universal).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy equipment and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours (including weekends, evenings, and on-call rotation).
Qualifications
- Experience in supermarket refrigeration or similar high-volume retail settings.
- Ability to train, mentor, and guide technicians in the field.
- Customer-first mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
Skills
- Commercial HVAC/R experience (refrigeration strongly preferred).
- Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools proficiency.
