About the Role
As a technician at Walmart, you will support and oversee repairs within Walmart facilities, focusing on refrigeration equipment and general commercial maintenance. You will utilize commercial refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on commercial refrigeration and food equipment.
- Develop and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks within outlined timeframes.
- Conduct training for store associates on equipment care and cleaning.
Equipment Serviced
- Food Equipment: Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers.
- Grease and Oil Systems: Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.
- Refrigeration Equipment: Large-scale rack refrigeration systems.
Requirements
- For Commercial Refrigeration Technician:
- 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration maintenance.
- Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
- For General Maintenance & Food Equipment Technician:
- 3 years’ experience in commercial maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment).
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- For All Positions:
- Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification or 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
- Type I/Type II EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
