About the role
The Commercial Portfolio Manager II will be familiar with the relationships and borrowers in their loan portfolio, proactively managing the assigned portfolio to ensure adherence to credit policy. This includes completing various required actions such as preliminary financial analysis, addressing industry risks, collateral requirements, loan structuring, and pricing.
Responsibilities
- Interact with customers independently to address routine and non-routine client servicing matters, including risk-related items.
- Prepare call plans and relationship reviews for individual and joint calls to prospects, clients, and centers of influence (COIs).
- Identify and make referrals to other business lines and departments.
- Collaborate and communicate with internal and external clients regarding both sensitive and routine matters.
- Engage in external networking and community involvement.
- Make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bank’s loan approval process.
- Offer approval recommendations based on credit structure fundamentals.
- Grow existing relationships through increased borrowings, deposits, cash management, and cross-selling into Wealth Management and Personal Banking.
- Negotiate credit transactions and service existing customer relationships to maximize profitability.
- Analyze and evaluate new Commercial Real Estate and Homebuilder Finance opportunities.
- Evaluate and analyze borrower financial statements and collateral reports.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of credit fundamentals, loan structuring and monitoring, bank policy, and compliance.
- Proficiency in real estate analytics and credit metrics.
- Needs-based sales and customer service skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to gather pertinent information and make recommendations for considering new opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry, market trends, and information.
- Analyze and interpret numerical data.
- Perform duties with frequent interruptions and time pressures in highly interruptive conditions.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of banking, finance, or sales-related experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience in credit analysis or underwriting preferred.
- Familiarity with Homebuilder Finance and/or Commercial Real Estate transactions preferred.
Pay
Base pay range: $98,000 - $127,000/year. Salary offered is based on factors including job duties, required qualifications, relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
