Commercial Plumbing Service Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Plumbing Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will diagnose and troubleshoot commercial plumbing issues, including faucets, drain clogs, conventional and tank-less water heaters. The technician must perform repairs and replacements of plumbing systems in various facilities, and be proficient with drain machines to clear stoppages. Our service techs work both inside and outside customer facilities, maintaining direct communication and contact with clients at all times.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair commercial plumbing issues, including faucets, drain clogs, water heaters (conventional and tank-less), and complete plumbing systems.
• Perform new plumbing installations and service repairs.
• Operate various types and sizes of drain machines to clean and clear drain stoppages.
• Work with advanced plumbing systems, including water heaters, boilers, pumps, lift stations, and backflow prevention devices.
• Perform live water line freezing and hot taps on energized piping and equipment.
• Use drain cameras for recording and locating underground lines.
• Apply advanced electrical knowledge relevant to plumbing systems.
• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing drainage, waste, and venting systems.
• Conduct advanced drain cleaning using cable machines and hydro jetter equipment.
• Install and repair various plumbing pipes and fittings, including steel, ductile iron, copper, PEX, and PVC.
• Install advanced plumbing fixtures and equipment.
• Interpret local plumbing codes and read blueprints.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial plumbing.
• Experience with both new plumbing installations and service repairs.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
• Plumbing license is a plus.
• Certification in PVC/HDPE fusion pipe welding is a plus.

Skills

• Advanced diagnosis, service, and repair of water heaters and boilers.
• Pump and lift station diagnosis, service, and repair.
• Backflow certification.
• Ability to freeze (live) water lines and perform hot taps on energized piping.
• Proficiency with drain camera recording and locating underground lines.
• Advanced electrical knowledge related to plumbing systems.
• Complete knowledge of plumbing drainage, waste, and venting systems.
• Advanced drain cleaning using cable machines and hydro jetter equipment.
• Installation and repair of plumbing pipes and fittings (steel, ductile iron, copper, PEX, PVC).
• Advanced plumbing fixture and equipment installation.
• Knowledge of local plumbing codes and blueprint reading.
