Commercial Painting estimator and Sales

This role involves quantifying all items on a request for proposal (RFP) for commercial painting services, preparing detailed written estimates, and assembling proposals that balance customer needs with reasonable profit for the franchise. You will present CertaPro Painters to prospective customers, differentiating our services and reinforcing our "Brand of Certainty."

Responsibilities

• Estimating:
  • Meet with customers in person to assess project needs and gather information for estimates.
  • Create detailed, grammatically accurate written proposals that clearly define customer needs and expectations.
  • Take photos of challenging production situations or customer service concerns and include them in proposals.
  • Ensure estimates account for safe working practices and proper equipment.
  • Measure commercial buildings for painting services (primarily repaints, some new construction).
  • Approve change orders for jobs in progress.
  • Schedule customer inquiries (leads) for estimates when not handled by other teams.
  • Participate in company-sponsored shows and events.
• Production:
  • Communicate the scope of work and customer needs to production staff after a job is secured.
  • Assist in assigning the most appropriate crew based on past performance, preferences, and abilities.
  • Manage the Production Board (White Board and/or Notes Scheduler).
  • Hand off landed jobs to the Job Site Supervisor in person, reviewing the Certainty Pledge.
  • Ensure the Job Site Supervisor understands the scope, customer expectations, safety issues, and setup requirements.
  • Establish a tentative finish date for each job.
  • Monitor crews to ensure jobs are produced at or above projected gross margin.
  • Facilitate timely resolution of customer complaints.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in a related field.
• Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid insurance.
• Exceptional communication skills with a friendly, positive demeanor.
• Strong written and verbal skills, including proofreading and basic math for estimating.
• High attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proven ability to set, meet, and exceed goals.
• Must speak, read, and write English (Spanish skills helpful but not required).
• Previous experience in the paint industry preferred but not required.
• Meticulous, clean, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays and evenings depending on project needs.
