Commercial Lender/VP, West Springfield

Job Summary

Florence Bank is seeking a Commercial Lender/VP to expand its commercial lending efforts in western Massachusetts and the greater Hartford, Connecticut area. The position offers competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work environment.

Essential Functions

• Provides superior professional service to internal and external customers.
• Assists in establishing departmental lending policies and operating procedures.
• Develops and maintains an interest rate structure that maximizes profitability.
• Prepares lending activity reports for bank management and the executive committee.
• Interviews applicants, collects and analyzes financial data, establishes creditworthiness, and negotiates credit terms.
• Approves loans within established loan authority and manages large and complex commercial loan accounts.
• Reviews loan documentation for completeness and ensures timely loan closing and funding activities.
• Maintains and updates loan portfolios, including renewals, modifications, and collections.
• Works with the Senior Commercial Lender and Chief Credit Risk Officer in loan workouts and foreclosures.
• Counsels customers on business management and financial matters.
• Participates in department business development activities, including the officer call program.
• Personally calls on customers and prospects, keeping up-to-date with local and national economic and financial events.
• Manages the department’s budget, prepares loan volume projections, and monitors expenditures.
• Refers business to other bank areas and maintains professional and community relations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively increasing responsible commercial lending experience.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a sound driving record and personal transportation available.
