Texadia Systems is seeking a Commercial Lead Technician to oversee technical installation, completion, and closeout of projects. This role serves as the client’s onsite project interface, mentors technical staff, and may act as Project Foreman on larger projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and ensure quality and functionality of client systems efficiently to meet project deadlines and performance standards.
  • Upload control system programs/code, configure DSP, and make final adjustments to installations.
  • Conduct pre-installation site surveys as needed.
  • Build, inspect, and test fabricated racks either in-house or onsite.
  • Perform post-project walkthroughs with clients and provide system training/overview.
  • Install and quality-check rigging/mounting of equipment and displays.
  • Test, quality control, and train on structured cabling, including pulling, terminating, and testing AV/network cables (e.g., HDMI, control, audio).
  • Install and quality-check AV equipment, including audio/video conferencing, distributed audio, digital signage, sound reinforcement, control systems, and presentation systems.
  • Manage daily restocking and inventory of van equipment/consumables if assigned a vehicle.
  • Supervise onsite technicians and assist Install Managers/Project Managers with project needs.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting project timelines.
  • Provide daily updates to the team and ensure project deliverables/milestones are met, including close-out documentation and punch list items.
  • Perform system-level diagnostics, troubleshoot issues, and report them to leadership.
  • Return RMA/DOA products to the warehouse promptly and undamaged.
  • Communicate personnel performance issues related to quality, training, and technical deliverables to Project Managers.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines of Texadia Systems and client requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to configure IP-based AV devices, including EDID and HDCP settings.
  • Experience configuring/modifying control and DSP system programs.
  • Strong independent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Impeccable wiring, termination, and safe installation techniques for AV equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring, elevation, and construction drawings.
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing, and project execution skills to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to engage manufacturers for technical support when needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience reading/understanding architecture, electrical, structural, and AV systems drawings.
  • Teachable attitude with a willingness to pursue continuing education.
  • Flexibility to adapt to tasks outside the job description as needed.
  • Extensive experience in team-oriented, collaborative environments.
  • Experience managing crews and working independently.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a background check.
  • Analytical and deductive reasoning skills for troubleshooting.
  • Strong computer and network knowledge.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and leadership abilities.
  • Self-starter with keen attention to detail and pride in deliverables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Willingness to travel for out-of-town projects requiring overnight stays.
  • Flexibility to work day, evening, or weekend shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED; degree in electronics, computer science, audio, or technology is a plus.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience installing, programming, and configuring AV components in commercial/residential environments.
  • Required experience: structured wiring, project installation, mounting/structure, control systems, networking, and DSP.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in technical installation of audiovisual systems, including rack fabrication, site prep, termination, calibration, and control system implementation.
  • Crestron and Biamp experience is a plus.
  • Infocomm CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D or Cedia ESC, ESC-T, ESC-N certifications preferred; candidates without certifications must obtain them within an agreed timeframe.
  • Additional manufacturer/product certifications are a plus.
  • Experience leading/supporting AV projects is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Physical Demands

  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to operate keyboards, mice, power tools, and office equipment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods.
  • Occasional climbing or balancing (e.g., ladders).
  • Regularly lift/transport up to 10 pounds; frequently lift/transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Hearing and vision within normal range.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions during equipment transport.
  • Occasional work in high, precarious places (e.g., ladders for shelving access).
  • Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
