Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and fix commercial cooking, refrigeration, and warewashing equipment.
- Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and maintenance on HVAC units, fryers, and refrigeration to prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain detailed logs of repairs, parts inventory, and service reports.
- Communicate with restaurant management regarding repair status and provide service updates.
- Ensure all work adheres to OSHA and safety regulations.
Job Requirements
- Technical Skills: Experience with electrical, refrigeration (HVAC), or gas systems.
- Tools: Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeter).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work in tight or hot/cold spaces.
- Licenses & Experience: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and typically 1-5+ years of experience.
- Certifications: CFESA (Commercial Food Equipment Service Association) or NATE certifications are often preferred.
Equipment Worked On
- Hot Side: Ovens, ranges, griddles, fryers, steamers.
- Cold Side: Coolers, freezers, ice machines.
- Warewashing: Dishwashers and waste disposals.
Typical Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to client locations in a service vehicle.
- Work environments include restaurants, hospitals, and cafeteria kitchens.
- Requires standing, kneeling, and crawling for extended periods.
