About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial interior construction projects from award through closeout. This hands-on leadership role focuses on drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and commercial flooring in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget completion.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and flooring projects from project award through final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and execution plans to ensure successful project delivery.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents to identify scope requirements and potential issues.
- Coordinate with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project costs, labor, materials, procurement, and subcontractor performance to maintain profitability.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
- Identify project risks and implement solutions to minimize delays, cost overruns, and scope conflicts.
- Support project closeout by ensuring punch lists, documentation, and final deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
- 3-8 years of project management experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, contracts, and project management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.
- Proficiency with construction project management software preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Commercial interior construction experience is required.
