Commercial Insurance Sales Manager

As Insurance Sales Manager, you will drive sales performance, manage a team, and foster strategic relationships within the insurance industry. This role involves goal setting, coaching, performance monitoring, and career development for the Property & Casualty (P&C) sales team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of P&C sales professionals to meet or exceed sales targets and objectives.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to optimize team performance.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive business growth in P&C.
- Track and analyze sales performance, market trends, and key metrics to evaluate sales strategies.
- Manage the P&C sales team to ensure work is completed within deadlines with attention to quality and priorities.
- Monitor, support, and motivate the team to reach established goals, reviewing results frequently.
- Ensure the team provides prompt, accurate, and courteous service to clients, insurance companies, and colleagues.
- Provide guidance, assistance, and ongoing training to employees to align with Newtek’s philosophy and core values.
- Assess and evaluate employee performance monthly using the Periodic Review process.
- Collaborate with team members to discuss areas of improvement and establish development plans, including additional training and coaching.
- Create a training agenda for new hires with goals and targets for the first 30, 60, and 90 days of employment.
- Assess and evaluate new hires during their first 30, 60, and 90 days.
- Reassess and re-evaluate employees at mid-year and year-end according to company policy.
- Foster open communication through regular team and one-on-one meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of sales management experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on P&C.
- Valid P&C license required.
- Excellent knowledge of P&C coverage, rules, and regulations.
- Comfortable engaging on video for client interactions, meetings, and other requirements.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to identify emerging markets and new sales opportunities.
- Familiarity with agency management system functionality and comparative rater tools.
- Attention to accuracy and detail in processing information.
- Ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback and be highly coachable.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-intensive environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a participative management style.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry partners.
- Strong follow-up skills and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Passion and drive to build the client portfolio.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and make strategic recommendations.
Performance Expectations (First 12-18 Months)

Pay
Salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year.
