Commercial HVAC Technician
About the role
The Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of commercial heating and cooling systems. This role ensures all work meets company standards and provides customers with a high-quality service experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on commercial HVAC systems
- Diagnose and repair issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
- Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices
- Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers about technical issues
- Participate in ongoing training and education opportunities
Requirements
- Commercial or industrial mechanical experience in HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification
- OSHA 10 certification
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, seminars, or union-provided education
- Comfortable working at heights
- Strong understanding of the value of preventative maintenance
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly to commercial customers and coworkers
- Willingness to take on responsibility and leadership when needed
- Strong troubleshooting skills and determination to solve mechanical problems
Qualifications
Required qualifications include commercial or industrial mechanical experience in HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems, EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification, OSHA 10 certification, willingness to participate in ongoing training, and comfort working at heights. Preferred qualifications may include an HVAC Technical School Certificate or Journeyman Card.
Pay & Benefits
Pay: Union scale
Benefits: Provided through Union contract
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
Occasional overtime and on-call rotations required
