Commercial HVAC Technician

Job Responsibilities

• Assist senior HVAC technicians with installations, repairs, and maintenance of commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, inspecting electrical components, and replacing filters.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot basic HVAC system malfunctions, identifying root causes and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Conduct minor repairs and component replacements under supervision.
• Document all service and repair work accurately and thoroughly.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and tools.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members, providing clear explanations of work performed.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance technical skills.
• Be available for occasional on-call shifts or emergency service as needed.

Job Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a vocational HVAC program or apprenticeship is a plus.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• A basic understanding of HVAC systems and principles.
• Familiarity with common hand and power tools used in HVAC work.
• The ability to read and interpret basic schematics and wiring diagrams.
• A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• The physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
• A willingness to learn and grow within the HVAC industry.
