Commercial HVAC Mechanic Installer

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Mechanic Installer to join the fast-growing team. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service.

Job Responsibilities

  • Replace commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
  • Complete paperwork daily, recording materials used on each job, in an accurate manner
  • Able to independently replace HVAC systems with a helper on the job
  • Able to wire up all basic HVAC low voltage wiring: furnace, a/c, thermostats, zone controls
  • Able to field fabricate duct fittings on the job without supervision
  • Able to fit and braze copper fittings
  • Able to perform equipment startups including verifying proper refrigerant charge and airflow readings
  • Able to read blueprints and lay out duct
  • Able to work four 10-hour shifts followed by being off for 3 day weekends

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in install mechanic
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, to install and replace HVAC equipment and parts
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment
  • Able to frequently lift 75 pounds and ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Sufficient physical ability to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by projects
  • Sufficient physical ability to endure high and low outside temperatures

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to work in a field environment, multiple customer sites on a daily basis.

  • The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Organizational Alignment

This position reports to the local install manager or branch leader and has a responsibility to all of our customers.
