About the role

This position is ideal for a skilled estimator with strong commercial HVAC and mechanical systems experience who wants to play a critical role in pricing, planning, and supporting large-scale commercial and industrial projects. You will work on complex HVAC replacements, mechanical upgrades, energy optimization solutions, and large-tonnage equipment projects while gaining valuable project coordination experience that can lead to future growth into senior estimating or project management roles.

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional field visits for pre-bid meetings, site verification, and project support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial mechanical and HVAC projects by reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform detailed labor and material takeoffs.
  • Develop proposals and coordinate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Ensure all estimates are complete and aligned with project scope.
  • Support project coordination through submittals, RFIs, procurement assistance, job cost tracking, and documentation management.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of commercial HVAC or mechanical estimating experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical systems, construction practices, and estimating processes.
  • Comfortable reading construction plans and specifications, performing digital takeoffs, managing documentation, and working with estimating software such as FastEST, QuoteSoft, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid driver's license.
  • Strong communication, organization, and vendor coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting projects from preconstruction through closeout, subcontractor buyout, scheduling, and job cost tracking.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required for candidates with strong practical experience).

Pay

$32.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday-Friday | Standard 8-Hour Shift with flexibility based on project demands.
