Commercial Ground Up Construction Project Manager - Central NJ

Job Description

Manage multiple commercial construction projects from award through final turnover.

Oversee all phases of ground-up construction projects, including sitework, foundations, structural work, and building completion.

Lead retail and restaurant fit-out projects, coordinating trades to ensure timely delivery with minimal disruption to operations.

Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost reports.

Cooky subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and ownership teams.

Review and manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.

Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, quality, and safety compliance.

Identify project risks and proactively develop solutions to maintain schedules and budgets.

Facilitate client meetings and provide consistent project updates throughout the construction process.

Ensure all projects meet local code requirements, company standards, and client expectations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager within commercial construction.
• Proven experience managing both ground-up commercial projects and retail or restaurant fit-out projects.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
• Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Sage, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar platforms.
• Experience managing subcontractors, negotiating contracts, and overseeing project financials.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required with relevant experience.
