Commercial Finance Manager - Channels and Partnerships
About the role
The Commercial Finance Manager – Channels and Partnerships plays a strategic role in supporting the growth initiatives of Convera’s partner-led business, focusing on indirect channels, strategic alliances, embedded finance, and distribution partnerships. The role requires deep involvement in commercial decision-making, from pricing and deal structuring to customer profitability and growth investment tradeoffs.
Responsibilities
Partner with Sales, Partnerships, Revenue Operations, Marketing, and Product leaders to evaluate partner strategies, growth initiatives, commercial structures, and commercial investments.
Act as the primary finance thought partner for key commercial decisions, ensuring alignment with financial objectives, incentive design, and risk tolerance.
Challenge assumptions, pressure-test proposals, and help leaders understand tradeoffs between growth, margin, and risk.
Own customer, product, and channel profitability analysis, identifying drivers of performance and actionable improvement opportunities.
Develop and maintain key commercial KPIs, such as revenue quality, partner contribution, deal economics, cost-to-serve, margin, customer acquisition economics, retention, LTV/CAC.
Create clear, executive-ready narratives explaining what's happening in the business and why.
Support pricing strategy, revenue share arrangements, and commercial terms to drive disciplined and repeatable deal outcomes.
Build financial models for new partnerships, channel launches, and embedded or indirect GTM initiatives.
Evaluate ROI on commercial investments and recommend course corrections as needed.
Support revenue forecasting and scenario analysis, incorporating commercial risks and opportunities.
Partner with the broader Finance function to ensure forecasts, plans, and incentives reflect economic reality.
Help embed governance processes that balance speed with financial discipline.
Improve commercial and financial understanding across partner-facing teams, setting the standard for data-driven decision-making.
Translate complex analyses into simple tools, models, and dashboards for non-finance stakeholders.
Coach and mentor junior team members, contributing to the development of a high-performing Commercial Finance function.
Requirements
7–10+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, Consulting, or related roles.
Proven track record supporting channel, partnership, or indirect GTM models in B2B, fintech, payments, SaaS, or financial services environments.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a bias toward action.
Ability to operate comfortably in ambiguity and fast-changing environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA a plus.
Advanced Excel financial modeling skills; PowerPoint fluency.
Experience with BI tools and large datasets preferred.

Pay Transparency Statement:
Convera is committed to pay transparency and equity in accordance with applicable U.S. state and local laws. For this position, the expected base salary range is [$130,000 - $156,000] per year, depending on factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location. We use a tiered geographic pay system to ensure fairness across regions. Candidates in high-cost areas may receive higher offers within the posted range.
