Commercial Finance Manager

About the role

The Manager of Commercial Finance serves as a strategic business partner to the commercial organization, driving financial clarity, supporting commercial decisions, and ensuring accurate translation of sales activities into financial results. This role acts as a critical liaison between Sales, Accounting, and Finance, helping the organization improve forecasting accuracy, strengthen financial controls, and drive profitable, data-driven growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between Sales, Finance, and Accounting to drive aligned planning and execution.
• Facilitate clear understanding of customer agreements, pricing structures, rebates, and incentive programs.
• Partner with Accounting to ensure commercial terms are compliant with U.S. GAAP and properly reflected in revenue and accruals.
• Provide Sales leadership with accurate, actionable financial insights.
• Partner with Accounting on revenue recognition, variable consideration, and ongoing financial compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Implement controls and review mechanisms to support ongoing contractual and financial compliance.
• Develop trade spend forecasts with high accuracy and transparent assumptions.
• Build dashboards and tools that enhance visibility into commercial trends and performance.
• Deliver clear, insight-driven updates to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4+ years accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP Standards
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Business or Finance
• CPA or equivalent certification
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Fusion
• Familiarity with trade spend accounting and deductions management
• Familiarity with convenience store distribution and promotional programs
