This role is remote but territory-based. Applicants must currently reside in Utah, Colorado, or New Mexico. Residence within 75 miles of a major airport hub in Denver, CO or Salt Lake City, UT is preferred, as this role requires frequent regional travel.
Responsibilities
- Implement corporate commercial strategies to grow equipment revenue, service revenue, and profitability.
- Review revenue, profitability, and CSR metrics; update technicians on a weekly basis.
- Move strategy to action and operationalize plans to motivate internal teams and external partners (Distributor Sales Reps).
- Build and lead a high-performing organization by hiring, retaining, and developing diverse talent.
- Model ethics and values, holding the team accountable while leading by example.
- Proactively develop and sustain customer relationships, resolving issues at the store level for major accounts.
- Perform field service management activities, including inspections of service crews and evaluating technician performance.
- Conduct face-to-face sales and service calls at end users, delivering presentations on Coats products and services.
- Travel up to 80% of the time within the assigned region, including overnight stays.
- Attend monthly, quarterly, and annual national and regional shows and marketing conferences as required.
- Monitor customer, market, and competitor activity; evaluate trends and competitive strategies.
- Collaborate with the internal product team on customer needs and feedback.
- Handle administrative functions for both service and sales.
- Optimize or develop channel strategies to grow offerings through distribution partners and Coats service technicians.
- Assume lead responsibilities in sales and service functions.
- Review district service metrics with technicians to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Understand and manage a profit and loss statement.
Requirements
- High proficiency in sales skills with a proven track record of achieving sales growth.
- Strong account management, relationship-building, time management, and organizational skills.
- Excellent presentation skills; energetic, self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to inspire others and interact credibly at all organizational levels.
- Adaptability to changing environments and effective prioritization of critical tasks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of on-site equipment installation and service; automotive aftermarket experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years’ experience managing people in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience managing in a shop or field environment, planning, scheduling, and coordinating customer activities.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical instructions and publications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using company software and monitoring parts/labor sales to achieve district goals.
- Excellent driving record and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
