About the Role

Provide proactive leadership, motivation, and guidance to build, develop, and expand the territory in sales and service for Coats. Represent Coats in all activities associated with these duties, implementing corporate commercial strategies to grow equipment revenue, service revenue, and profitability.

Work Location: Southeast Texas, Louisiana, or Southern Mississippi. Due to the field-based nature of this role, candidates must reside in or near these areas to effectively cover the territory.

This position requires visiting end users and supporting distributors within your territory, with most travel outside the local area and overnight stays. Travel up to 80% of the time in the assigned region.

Essential Competencies

  • Leadership:
    • Analyzes complex problems, drives to root cause, and uses robust analyses when needed.
    • Reviews revenue, profitability, and CSR metrics, updating technicians weekly.
    • Moves strategy to action, anticipates business trends, and creates competitive strategies.
    • Communicates strategy effectively to motivate internal teams and external partners.
    • Adapts to change, prioritizes tasks, and assigns work appropriately.

  • Customer Advocate:
    • Develops and sustains quality customer relationships, demonstrating composure under pressure.
    • Resolves customer issues at the store level, including warranty and goodwill decisions.
    • Gathers diverse perspectives to approach and solve problems analytically.
    • Performs field service management activities, inspects service crews, and evaluates technician performance.
    • Conducts face-to-face sales and service calls, delivering presentations on Coats products and services.
    • Monitors customer, market, and competitor activity, evaluating trends and competitive strategies.
    • Collaborates with the internal product team on customer needs.
    • Handles administrative functions for both service and sales.
  • Business Acumen:
    • Develops and implements channel strategies to grow offerings through distribution partners and Coats service technicians.
    • Leads sales and service functions, reviewing district service metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
    • Learns customer operations to create synergies and seamless collaboration.
    • Understands and manages a profit and loss statement.

Requirements

  • High proficiency in sales skills and a proven track record of achieving sales growth.
  • Strong account management, relationship-building, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills; energetic, self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to inspire others.
  • Adaptable, with the ability to interact and influence credibly at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of on-site equipment installation and service preferred; automotive aftermarket knowledge a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 to 5 years’ experience managing people in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 to 2 years’ experience managing in a shop or field environment, planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical instructions and publications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills; proficiency in company software required.
  • Strong analytical skills to monitor parts and labor sales, ensuring district goals are achieved.
  • Excellent driving record and ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
