About the role
Small Business Lending, LLC is seeking a Commercial Credit Underwriter - Team Lead to supervise and mentor an underwriting team, ensuring high-quality credit analysis and compliance with SBA and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist Credit Managers in supervising the Underwriting Team regarding credit memorandums, credit modifications, and SBA forms reviews.
- Coach, train, mentor, and evaluate underwriters on credit analysis, processes, policy, and product knowledge.
- Support Credit Managers in achieving performance metrics related to production and loan quality.
- Review loan files and prepare detailed underwriting and risk analysis for presentation to the Credit Committee.
- Conduct initial review of incoming loan packages to determine creditworthiness and compliance.
- Submit and present findings to the Credit Committee.
- Participate in audits related to the company's credit and collections policies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of management or team lead experience.
- Desirable: CRE, C&I, and SBA regulatory training and experience with 7A and 504 SBA loans.
- Formal Bank Credit training preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications.
Pay
$90,000 to $140,000 per year.
