Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and revise vendor, consulting, and service agreements to align with organizational objectives and legal standards.
- Prepare and negotiate sales contract templates and related commercial documents with attention to risk allocation and enforceability.
- Create and update gift, pledge, and fundraising agreements that support fundraising and partnership activities.
- Develop memoranda of understanding and collaboration documents for external relationships and joint initiatives.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contract terms, obligations, and potential legal exposure across routine business matters.
- Support the legal review of partnership arrangements and other nonprofit-related agreements to ensure clarity and compliance.
- Recommend edits to contract language that protect the organization while maintaining productive business relationships.
Requirements
- Licensed attorney in good standing with at least 5 years of legal experience focused on contract drafting and review.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a variety of commercial agreements, including service, sales, partnership, and related contracts.
- Strong working knowledge of contract negotiation, issue spotting, and practical risk assessment.
- Experience supporting nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is preferred.
- Background in civil litigation, motion drafting, briefing, or discovery is helpful but not required for success in this role.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Prioritization and management of multiple tasks independently in a Contract position environment.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in law or a related field is required. A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is preferred.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000 per year.
