Design
- Creates design illustrations based on blueprints to produce working drawings for fabrication
- Works with a variety of materials to create trusses, beams, wall panels, and other structural components
- Completes and finalizes designs for production and assembly
- Evaluates designs to ensure all design standards and requirements are met
- Reviews and analyzes specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings, and related documents to determine factors affecting the design of commercial walls, truss, and engineered wood components
Requirements
- Knowledgeable in the basic aspects of construction
- Previous experience using truss or component design software
- High level of knowledge in the application of the products being designed
- Competency in basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
