About the role
Ford Motor Company is seeking a highly creative/strategic Interior Designer and Product Designers for its design studios in Dearborn. The successful candidates will work on advanced and production interior projects and products, developing both conceptual and production-based interior solutions in the forms of sketches, renderings, and 3D digital models. They will be responsible for creating compelling and innovative interior design experiences and visions for design projects, exploring human-centered design experiences with a focus on interior design holistically, coordinating the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions, and creating future brand-focused design visions. They will span digital and physical (software and hardware) thinking, solving problems related to connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and production-based interior solutions in the forms of sketches, renderings, and 3D digital models.
- Think creatively, strategically, and analytically to create compelling and innovative interior design experiences and visions for design projects.
- Explore human-centered design experiences with emphasis on interior design holistic experience.
- Cook up the work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions.
- Create future brand-focused design visions.
- Span digital and physical (software and hardware) thinking.
- Solve problems around topics of connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, Transportation Design, or a similar field of study or a combination of education and equivalent experience.
- 1+ years of design experience, including experience with final design product execution.
- 1+ years of experience translating 2D to 3D and thinking three-dimensionally with a strong emphasis on proportions and a refined sense of form.
Qualifications

- Familiarity with design trends within and across design professions and global cultures (automotive, fashion, product, architectural, etc.).
- Outstanding teamwork, leadership, visual, written, and verbal communication skills.

Pay
This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $74,300-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
Schedule
This position is hybrid. Candidates who are in commuting distance to a Ford hub location may be required to be onsite four or more days per week.
