Airswift is looking for a Commercial Building Superintendent to work with one of our major clients in Gregory, TX in a 1-year contract position.

About the role

This opportunity is suited to a highly experienced construction professional with a strong background in the commercial building industry. The Commercial Building Superintendent will play an important role in overseeing inspection activity, supporting document management, and ensuring work is delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and applicable code requirements. This position offers the chance to contribute technical expertise within a demanding project environment that values organisation, adaptability, and clear reporting.

The role is set within the commercial building industry, with exposure to interior and exterior project inspection activity. Experience in power or oil and gas environments would be beneficial. The role requires an adaptable approach to a shifting work schedule and a high level of coordination across inspection and documentation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inspections across all disciplines within the commercial building industry, covering both interior and exterior works.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and code requirements to support project execution and inspection activity.
  • Maintain strong control of project documentation, including drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Produce clear and effective reports to support project communication and progress visibility.
  • Apply strong organisational skills to coordinate inspection-related information and documentation accurately.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the commercial building industry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings, specifications, and code.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of document control systems.
  • Strong organisational skills covering drawings, RFIs, submittals, and related documentation.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to adapt to a shifting work schedule.
  • Good reporting skills.
  • Experience in the power industry and/or oil and gas industry.
