Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction operations for Water and Wastewater projects.
- Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to design specifications.
- Manage and direct subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel.
- Coordinate with the General Contractor, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Review project plans, submittals, and schedules to monitor progress and identify potential delays.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to prevent disruptions to construction activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Enforce OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and job-site safety procedures.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture.
- Maintain clear communication regarding project status, challenges, schedule changes, and field issues.
- Resolve field conflicts and construction issues efficiently to minimize delays.
- Support pre-construction activities including submittals, subcontracting, estimating, and scheduling.
- Manage project change orders, including pricing, execution of work, and issuing change orders to subcontractors.
- Monitor project schedules and coordinate manpower and resources to maintain project progress.
- Work closely with project management and field teams to ensure successful project execution.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or industrial construction.
- Experience with Water and Wastewater construction projects preferred.
- Experience with underground industrial construction is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and applicable building codes.
- Proven ability to oversee large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- Experience managing subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, project specifications, and schedules.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
- OSHA certification required.
- High school diploma required; construction management degree or related certification preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
