Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day construction operations for Water and Wastewater projects.
  • Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to design specifications.
  • Manage and direct subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel.
  • Coordinate with the General Contractor, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Review project plans, submittals, and schedules to monitor progress and identify potential delays.
  • Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to prevent disruptions to construction activities.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.
  • Enforce OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and job-site safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding project status, challenges, schedule changes, and field issues.
  • Resolve field conflicts and construction issues efficiently to minimize delays.
  • Support pre-construction activities including submittals, subcontracting, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Manage project change orders, including pricing, execution of work, and issuing change orders to subcontractors.
  • Monitor project schedules and coordinate manpower and resources to maintain project progress.
  • Work closely with project management and field teams to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial or industrial construction.
  • Experience with Water and Wastewater construction projects preferred.
  • Experience with underground industrial construction is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and applicable building codes.
  • Proven ability to oversee large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, laborers, and field personnel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, project specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
  • OSHA certification required.
  • High school diploma required; construction management degree or related certification preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
