Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations as a Building Subcontractor on Water and Wastewater construction projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on budget, and in accordance with design specifications.
- Manage and direct subcontractors, laborers, and other on-site personnel, ensuring that work is performed according to schedule and quality standards.
- Ensure that all construction work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Review project plans, submittals, and schedules to ensure that work progresses according to plan and address any delays or issues that arise.
- Coordinate deliveries of materials and equipment, ensuring that the site is well-stocked and that there is no delay in the construction process.
- Monitor and enforce safety practices on the job site, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintain clear and constant communication with the General Contractor, subcontractors, and other stakeholders regarding project status, challenges, and updates.
- Conduct regular inspections of the site to ensure high-quality workmanship and that all work is completed to specification.
- Resolve on-site issues or conflicts quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing delays and maintaining project schedules.
- Work on pre-construction tasks such as Submittals, Subcontracts, Estimating, and Scheduling.
- Responsible for Change Orders on projects: provide pricing, execution of work, and send out change orders to Subcontractors.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in Commercial / Industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and local building codes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Proven experience in overseeing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Procore, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project software.
- OSHA certification.
- High school diploma is required; a construction management degree or related certification is a plus.
