About the role

The job of a Senior Commercial Banking Relationship Manager involves ensuring the success and growth of an assigned portfolio by deepening relationships with existing clients and acquiring new ones. Key responsibilities include reviewing client credit needs, negotiating credit terms, managing loan repayment methods and collateral specifications, and providing financial advice and counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing client credit needs and designing solutions
  • Negotiating credit terms and loan repayment methods
  • Maintaining and updating financials for existing clients
  • Managing and monitoring client relationships for compliance with credit standards
  • Handling relationships and providing financial advice to clients and prospective clients
  • Reviewing loan documents to ensure compliance with the Loan Policy and banking laws and regulations
  • Maintaining compliance with all Federal and State regulations
  • Building a great rapport with clients and fellow associates
  • Treating others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • 12-15+ years of commercial banking or related financial services experience
  • Good managerial, communication, and sales skills
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial lending, business development, sales, and client relationship management

Desired Qualifications

  • MBA or master’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • 15+ years of commercial or specialty banking experience
  • 5+ years of commercial credit experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong business development skills and understanding of credit and business finance
  • Strong networking skills and participation in networking events
  • Competent in using standard office software including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Solid knowledge of banking policies, regulations, and compliance issues
  • Solid ability to analyze financial statements and basic accounting principles
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build peer and/or team cohesiveness
  • Self-directed and motivated to accomplish tasks, meet objectives, and adhere to timelines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Work Environment

The role is primarily office-based with traditional working hours. Associates may need to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours) and may be required to travel as necessary.
