In This Role
You will act as an advisor to determine appropriate strategy and actions of team to guide, influence, develop, retain, and grow moderately complex client relationships through the art of relationship management, by understanding the needs and priorities of clients and financial decision makers, responding quickly, communicating proactively but strategically, managing expectations, and soliciting feedback.
- Manage and develop team of relationship managers or relationship management managers with moderate complexity and risk in Commercial Banking on the structuring, modification, and renewal of complex cash flow, real estate loans, and certain other industry specific solutions, including leading the analysis of financials, presenting to clients, and engaging and influencing stakeholders and partners associated with function and affected by outcomes.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development within function and across Commercial Banking Relationship Management.
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of relationship management team to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables; interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility.
- Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior managers, interact directly with clients, represent the company externally, and lead a team to resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo's business objectives, by helping clients navigate processes and escalating inquiries when needed.
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in area of responsibility; develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy, including mentoring less experienced individuals.
- Lead team in driving relationship planning activities and maintain sales and pipeline disciplines by keeping information current in relevant systems.
- Partner with Commercial Lending Product Management to provide vision, leadership, and expertise on client and market needs that enable companywide strategies that significantly influence the organization's business and influence financial operations.
- Lead team to offer the full suite of solutions to meet clients' needs, by developing best practices to engage product organizations and understand clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions.
- Manage relationship management team to support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new Commercial Banking clients, focused on building long-term, profitable relationships through strategic leadership, excellent product knowledge, flawless deal execution, and superior customer service.
Required Qualifications
- 7 + years of Commercial Banking Relationship Management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of core banking products and services, such as commercial lending and treasury management
- Completion of formal credit training program
- Commercial banking account relationship management experience for clients with annual revenue of $25MM to $2B
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively to deliver the organization to clients and prospects
- Demonstrated experience generating new client relationships, building and retaining long-term client relationships
- Demonstrated experience identifying and mitigating risk, ensuring compliance with processes and procedures
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
