Commercial Account Executive - Strategic

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build multi-year growth plans for strategic accounts, mapping stakeholders, buying centers, and whitespace across solutions
  • Orchestrate complex, multi-threaded sales cycles, coordinating with Solutions Architects, overlays, and executives to win large, complex solution deals
  • Own focused expansion through cross-sell, upsell, and whitespace opportunities
  • Own structured renewal motion with a compelling commercial offer
  • Conduct regular value checkpoints (Strategic Business Reviews) with each customer
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline, forecasting, and deal governance across all opportunities to protect margin and manage risk

Other Responsibilities

  • Assume formal account ownership from Business Development Executives and Channel Managers upon the first-year anniversary of the account
  • Hold primary commercial responsibility for all expansion opportunities while Strategic Service Managers own account health and experience
  • Defend against new competitors and manage strategic negotiations
  • Engage key executives, develop business cases, and gain customer commitment
  • Support the full customer lifecycle from discovery through renewal

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • 7+ years of enterprise or strategic account executive experience within B2B technology, telecom, managed services, or SaaS.
  • Professional experience within the Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry is required.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, multi-threaded sales cycles with senior executives, technical stakeholders, and large account buying committees.
  • Experience with both new logo acquisition and expansion within major accounts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of solution-based selling methodologies
  • High level of business acumen and ability to translate strategic initiatives into actionable opportunities.
  • Strong business case development and strategic negotiation experience.
  • Advanced CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred).
  • Willingness to travel extensively for customer engagements and executive meetings.
