About the Role

As the E-commerce Writing Intern, you'll dedicate 20 hours a week to support the growth and day-to-day operations of IntrigueMag's e-commerce initiatives. You'll use your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical mindset, and passion for digital retail to optimize the reader shopping experience, strengthen the publication’s relationship between brands and public relations experts, increase affiliate commissions, and boost the publication’s recommendation credibility through thoughtfully curated (and honest) product reviews, round-ups, and promotions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing and updating product listings, descriptions, pricing, and links across the website’s already published e-commerce content
  • Research emerging product trends and recommend merchandise that aligns with IntrigueMag's audience and editorial voice
  • Identify which trending PR opportunities are worth chasing and transforming into approachable content that’s optimized to earn
  • Attend brand and product launches, record and test products and services, maintain updated spreadsheet with honest post-testing feedback, and curate content that’s thoughtful, truthful and informed
  • Create compelling, SEO-friendly product descriptions and merchandising copy for the website’s “Editors’ Picks” sections
  • Monitor website analytics and e-commerce performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth
  • Support promotional campaigns, seasonal launches, and special product collections
  • Coordinate with the editorial and social media teams to feature products within articles, newsletters, and digital campaigns
  • Brainstorm creative initiatives to increase conversions across affiliate platforms and publication subscription bases
  • Passionate about creating commerce content that makes a difference in readers' lives

Requirements

  • Must be studying business, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and basic data analysis
  • Familiarity with affiliate marketing and related platforms (Skimlinks, Impact, etc.) a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and meet critical deadlines
