COLOR SPIN OPERATOR 2nd Shift

The Spin Line Operator performs quality support functions for manufacturing, assists with R&D projects, matches/adjusts color concentrates, and tests physical properties for all Mohawk Extrusion. Responsibilities

• Carry out various quality checks in all polymers.
• Run Extrusion pilot line to test internal produced concentrate and qualify external produced concentrates for color and physical properties going to extrusion facilities.
• Approve lots to be shipped.
• Promote and support safety.
• Suggest innovative ways of process improvements.
• Establish starting formulas for compounding production.
• Maintain lift truck certification.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of relevant experience.
• Good understanding of color technology and use of instruments.
• Basic math skills to correct formulas.
• Ability to assist lead operators with adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Experience testing properties and recording results in Excel for reports.
• Ability to meet physical requirements of a manufacturing environment, including climbing steps, carrying heavy materials, and operating a lift truck.
