Job Summary

The Office of Institutional Advancement/Foundation Office is seeking a highly motivated student intern to assist with campus events, special projects, and duties as assigned in the Institutional Development/Foundation Office. The student will report to the Interim Associate Vice President. This work-study position is especially suitable to a student who has an interest in nonprofit work and who is majoring in Marketing, Communication, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Job Duties

  • Monitoring office when Leadership team is away or in meetings.
  • Various office tasks such as filing and organizing storage area.
  • Aiding staff before, during, and after campus events.
  • Aiding with various special projects and reports, including supporting other offices and campus-wide events.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a registered student of Southwest Tennessee Community College.
  • Only students who are approved for Federal Work Study are qualified for this position.
  • If you have any questions regarding this requirement, please reach out to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours and up to 20 hours per week.
  • Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events, particularly at the beginning of academic term, homecoming week, and Institutional Advancement events.
  • Must have a great attitude and sense of professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions in a highly collaborative team setting.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Setup of events may require lifting, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds and standing and/or walking for extended periods.
