Collective Staff Training Lead (MEL4)
About the role
GDIT is seeking a Collective Staff Training Lead to support unit commander’s training objectives by developing training methods and materials, such as curriculum, lectures, and computer-based training aids, based on consultation with client/user specifications.
The Collective Staff Training Lead will lead a diverse team of Collective Trainers to manage the development, organization, and delivery of training and educational programs for customer personnel. The ideal candidate will have expertise and experience in staff training best practices, industry requirements, and information technology disciplines to develop technical and training solutions in support of Army mission command training.
Responsibilities
- Develop training methods and materials, such as curriculum, lectures, and computer-based training aids, based on consultation with client/user specifications
- Lead a diverse team of Collective Trainers to manage the development, organization, and delivery of training and educational programs for customer personnel
- Utilize expertise and experience in staff training best practices, industry requirements, and information technology disciplines to develop technical and training solutions in support of Army mission command training
- Plan, coordinate, and execute unit collective training at echelons ranging from Battalion to Division
- Assist unit leadership in planning collective training that will meet their training objectives; identify any gaps (resource, training, equipment, etc.) and work with the management team to ensure they are filled prior to execution of training
- Serve in a mentorship or observer/trainer role when requested
- Gather observations based on unit actions during the training event and provide input to unit After Action Reviews (AARs)
- Maintain a comprehensive repository of relevant TTPs
Requirements
- BS or BA degree, subject immaterial, and have completed Army Command & General Staff College (CGSC)
- Minimum of 15+ years of related experience in military supervisory and C2 experience
- Advanced knowledge and ability to train individuals in the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) and command post operations
- Experience in operations, planning, and training requirements at a battalion or higher level, with a background in training management
- Thoroughly understand Movement and Maneuver and C2 and their inter-dependencies with the other warfighting functions
- Successfully served as a battalion commander or battalion or brigade S3 or XO
- Maneuver (Armor, Infantry, or Field Artillery branch officer) experience at field grade level
- Active Secret clearance required to start
Qualifications
- Preferred experience in any of the following positions: Battalion Commander; Combat Training Center (CTC) Observer/Controller; Small Group Instructor; SAMS and lead planner; Primary or deputy general staff officer, Battalion or Brigade Operations Officer
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to correspond and communicate with senior military leaders
- OIF/OND/OEF experience
- Working knowledge of MSEL development

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $81,600 - $110,400, although salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Schedule
Normal work schedule is 0730-1630, with possible night or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Travel Required: 10-25%. Telecommuting Options: Onsite Work Location: USA TX Fort Bliss.
