Collections Specialist - Dallas, TX
About the role
This role is key to the success of the Reprise Portfolio. The Collections Specialist follows up with customers to ensure timely payments, loss mitigation, and loan modifications.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and contacts customers with outstanding debts
- Works to bring customers into active status by reviewing payment options, extensions, loan modifications, etc.
- Processes payments from customers and assists them with setting up recurring or single payments
- Answers customer questions related to general account maintenance (e.g., balances, payments, address changes)
- Takes actions to encourage timely debt payments
- Ensures account maintenance is updated within the core system of record
- Reports on collection activity and account status
- Researches history such as ACH transactions, disputes, posting errors, and submits corrections
- May support other functions within Collections and Servicing teams
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques (e.g., skip tracing)
- Knowledge of collection practices and associated regulations preferred
- 1+ years of customer service or call center experience is required
- Experience working in financial services, lending, or payments preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred
Location
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement following an initial onsite training period. The next class begins September 14, with the first three weeks of training conducted onsite in Irving, Texas. After that, team members will work from home, with one mandatory onsite training day per month in Irving, Texas.
Pay
For this role, the hourly pay range is $18.00 to $20.00, based on relevant experience and qualifications. This position is also eligible for a monthly incentive bonus program, providing the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on individual performance and the terms of the company’s incentive plan.
Schedule
This role follows a standard Monday–Friday daytime schedule, with one late-night shift each week. Team members also work rotating Saturdays. Additional Saturdays may occasionally be required based on business needs.
