Collections and Foreclosure Services Manager
About the role
SC State Housing Finance and Development Authority's (SC Housing) Mortgage Servicing Department services mortgage loans for first-time homeowners and low- to medium-income families for affordable housing. We are seeking a Collections and Foreclosure Services Manager who is employee-driven, customer-oriented, and excels in leadership, customer service, attention to detail, multitasking, and timeliness. Under limited supervision, the manager will use sound judgment to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Default, Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, and Foreclosure areas within Mortgage Servicing. This role provides expertise and guidance to staff and customers regarding regulated duties and serves as an integral member of the Servicing Management team to advance SC Housing’s mission, values, and strategic plan.
Responsibilities
- Direct and lead the Default, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, and Bankruptcy functions.
- Create a culture of accountability that empowers employees to take ownership of their actions.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes continuous communication.
- Ensure insurer compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Oversee MILAR and delinquent loan reporting to all mortgage insurers.
- Respond to all internal and audit requests.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of applicable requirements by reviewing government and private mortgage insurer handbooks, mortgagee letters, instructional handbooks, laws, and other regulations related to delinquent loan servicing.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field of study.
- A minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience in housing finance, banking, real estate, or another housing-related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory, managerial, or team lead experience (may run concurrently with professional experience).
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted (e.g., 1 year of education = 1 year of related experience).

- Physical ability to continuously stand or walk, lift and carry files/books/reports up to 20 lbs, perform filing and desk work, and operate general office equipment.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged or intermittent periods while sharing, gathering, or presenting information.
