Position Summary

We're currently seeking a driven individual to join our Manufacturing Team as a Cold Forming Trainee/Manufacturing Operator.
What You Will Do
- Operate a minimum of one cold forming machine under close supervision.
- Receive close supervision from team leaders, working from set-up sheets, detailed machine parts drawings, machine manuals, specifications, tool charts, and instructions using micrometers and hand tools.
- Monitor the automatic operation of cold forming machines.
- Inspect and gauge completed parts from every pan to verify correct dimensions and profile against drawing specifications, and report parts outside of drawing tolerances to the team leader.
- Make necessary adjustments to machines to produce quality parts as the operator's training progresses.
- Complete paperwork and statistical process control (SPC) charts as necessary.
- Detect and report parts that are out of specification.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including adding oil, and maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Complete time, production, and quality reports as necessary.
- Collaborate with operators from other shifts to transmit and exchange information pertinent to the current work.
- Observe all safety regulations at all times.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer, reading, and math skills.
- Mechanical ability.
- Use of micrometers, calipers, comparators, gages, hand tools, etc.
- Read and understand blueprints.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift approximately 40 lbs.
- Must be able to stand approximately 8 - 10 hours a day.
- Able to bend, twist, and squat in sometimes awkward positions for prolonged periods of time while exerting force (pushing or pulling) on hand tools used to adjust machine.
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Manual dexterity.
