Cognitive Rehabilitation Specialist- Neuro- Full-Time

For over 40 years, we have developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries.

Responsibilities

• Provides cognitive rehabilitation therapy services to clients with cognitive disorders
• Focuses on developing strategies for clients in areas of memory, executive function, comprehension, problem solving, and conflict resolution
• Works directly with the client and provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote the client's success in achieving identified treatment goals
• Completes therapy evaluation and interfaces with treatment team to set up initial treatment plan and establish priority treatment goals
• Trains/facilitates education for families, funders, employers, significant others as needed to support the treatment and discharge plan
• Maintains monitoring of the client's treatment plan and progress toward goals; provides problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and revision of goals and treatment plan as necessary

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field and work experience in one of the following areas: neuropsychology, speech language therapy, occupational therapy, special needs education, or social work
• ACBIS certification is required
• One-year of brain injury industry related experience is preferred
• Individuals working in this position must be credentialed as a cognitive rehabilitation specialist Level 1 within two years after starting their role
• The required number of supervised hours spent performing direct client contact fieldwork (needed to complete Level 1 certification) will be supervised by the Clinical Director or their designee
