Code Compliance Specialist - Short Term Rentals

Responsibilities

• Investigates potentially unregistered short-term rental properties and other complaints in Gila County
• Verifies ownership using recorded property deeds
• Drafts legal documents for service of process
• Presents evidence at a hearing to the Gila County Hearing Officer
• Maintains a high volume of cases by monitoring their status
• Conducts on-site inspections and prepares inspection reports
• Prepares Letters, Notice of Violation/Summons, and sets hearing and compliance dates
• Monitors cases and reports any changes
• Works with owners to resolve violations and achieve compliance
• Prepares documentation for cases required to go before Hearing Officer
• Provides customer service: answers questions; assists public with preparation of building and zoning applications
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in law enforcement, customer service, or related field.

Skills

Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
