About the role

Responsible for providing dining service to all Guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner in accordance with Grand Casino’s service standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous service of beverages to Casino Guests in accordance with Grand Casino standards.
  • Perform tasks to service Guests, including taking and filling drink orders and assisting in maintaining the Casino floor in a clean and neat manner.
  • Adhere to established cash handling control policies and procedures of Grand Casinos.
  • Know beverage menus and offerings and apply suggestive selling techniques to enhance Guest gaming experience.
  • Attend to Guests' needs continually, ensuring all requests are promptly fulfilled.
  • Answer Guest questions and direct concerns to appropriate management.
  • Address Guest challenges to resolve them quickly and courteously in accordance with department standards.
  • Encourage mutual respect, dignity, and integrity with all Associates by setting positive examples.
  • Participate as a team member to produce a smoothly and efficiently run operation that meets the highest standards of Guest service.
  • Assist with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary area at all times in full accordance with established health regulations.
  • Understand the Dram Shop Act and Servers' responsibilities and rights under it.
  • Collaborate with Utilities, Bartenders, Supervisors, and other pertinent Grand Casino Associates to ensure efficient operational standards.
  • Be flexible to learn and execute tasks in multiple food or beverage outlets.

Requirements

  • Must be able to secure a license from the Gaming Regulatory Authority.
  • Must follow all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
  • Previous bartending and/or serving experience of one year.
  • Alcohol Awareness Training (certification within 2 months required).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Skills

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate responses.

Physical Demands

  • Talk and hear; ability to communicate effectively.
  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
  • Stand, walk, run, sit (up to 8 hours), balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Lift and carry objects up to twenty-five (25) lbs.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to a low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
  • Regular exposure to a moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).
