About the role
Sabathani Community Center (SCC) is one of Minnesota’s oldest African American-founded nonprofits serving a multi-cultural community of more than 50,000 community members in South Minneapolis. SCC was founded in 1966 by a handful of concerned community members seeking to address social and economic disparities in underserved communities in the areas of youth programming, housing, health and education. The organization is a major resource hub expanding services within the South Minneapolis community.
Responsibilities
- Direct Support and Documentation (85%)
- Intake of participants
- Examining participant income and family composition
- Providing housing information and assistance
- Inspecting units for compliance and housing quality standards (HQS)
- Processing rental payments to landlords
- Internal Support (10%)
- Works closely with Sabathani’s CFO to process rental assistance payments
- Develop or refine internal processes to ensure efficiency in communication and programming
- Represents and promotes Sabathani’s mission and programs in a variety of public settings
- Educates Sabathani Staff about referral, the application requirements, and application process
- Other duties as assigned (5%)
Qualifications
- Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Human Services, Social Work, Housing Services, Community Development, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of two years of experience providing housing services, case management, homeless services, or related social service support
- Experience working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness, poverty, housing instability, or other barriers to housing
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with HUD-funded programs, Continuum of Care programs, or HMIS
- Certified HQS Inspector or trained in Nspire inspections
- Knowledge of Hennepin County housing resources and community service systems
- Experience with landlord engagement and housing placement services
- Knowledge and experience with diverse groups of people of lower socioeconomic conditions
- Demonstrate skills in conflict management
- Competency or the ability to quickly learn QuickBooks (Intuit Software) and Sales Force platforms
- Competency in MS Office: Word, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay Range
The Pay Range For This Role Is 30 - 30 USD per hour(Sabathani-Mpls)
